ONE POE BOY

A call came in to our excited leader

When I was birding in Cape May

A rare giant raven had been spotted in Delaware Bay

And was on its way

We were ready with our binoculars

Our cameras and gaze

But the bird it did not show

Then or any days

We saw eagles hawks a mocking bird

And grackle by the score

But we did not see a raven

or quoth it…

“too many bennies at the Jersey Shore”.
